Helen and William visit.

It has been a while since my last blog and I will try and catch up so I stay in practice. Helen and William came to visit the week before Easter and although the weather was colder than it was supposed to be for this time of year William and I had several opportunities to get out in the sun and explore some different things around Glen Allen.

We had a wonderful time with Helen and William and he and I went to our local park one day. We hiked in the woods, played with a ball and looked at the train cars which are now parked at the baseball fields.

We also went to the farm and looked at the sheep, horses, cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys etc. I think William liked the sheep best.

Since the weather was rather cold during the first part of the week we went to the Children's museum one day. It was the first time we had been there. It is more like an indoor playground than a museum but we had fun. He loved the climbing wall and especially the model trains. Everything was very "hands on" and he was eager to try it all.

Then the little train which the children could ride started and he was very eager to try this. He chose the car with the mermaid. He really enjoyed that.

He also spent some time in the sand box, but the "fake" sand was too shallow to do much and it seemed to be a popular area with several other kids all trying to use the same shovels and buckets so we moved on quite quickly
We looked in to the room where they have tables with crayons and paints but he wasn't too interested in that and he can do that at our house. Perhaps it was also because it was lunch time and he was ready for something to eat. There were a lot of different options in a relatively small area and it was difficult for the children to focus on any one activity. He had fun but we will probably choose a different outing on a cold day another time.
Grandpa and William had a great time together and it allowed Christa and Helen to spend mother-daughter time. He is such fun and is happy to participate in whatever is going on.
